Tamkeen Holds Networking Session for “Mashroo3i” Youth Business Award Alumni for Program’s Third Edition
Tamkeen recently held the first networking session for participants of the third Mashroo3i Youth Business Award program, where alumni met with key members of the Kingdom’s prominent organizations. The first of its kind event, featured 60 Mashroo3i alumni connecting with representatives from Bahrain Development Bank, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, Tenmou and UNIDO, as well as Mashroo3i’s panel of mentors and judges in attendance.
Mashroo3i comes as part of Tamkeen’s efforts to support Bahrain’s youth and prepare them for the labor market while raising awareness about the importance of entrepreneurship amongst Bahrainis. This year’s edition of the program had participants undergo a training phase prior to the business planning phase of the competition, which aims to provide contestants with insight on the essentials of business planning. The competition targets Bahraini youth between the ages of 15-26, with the junior’s category ranging from ages 15-18 and the advanced category ranging from ages 18-26.
Launched by Tamkeen in 2012, the Mashroo3i Youth Business Awards aim to foster entrepreneurial spirit and culture among Bahrain’s youth while educating them on the basic skills of business planning in a competitive setting. To date, over 463 Bahraini youth have benefitted from the initiative.
