Worldwide, the Energy sector is amid transformative change, diversifying from traditional fossil fuels to alternative sources, aligning with the global trajectory towards sustainability. Although the sector in Bahrain is still dominated today by oil and gas, there is an accelerated shift towards decarbonization and renewable resources, particularly solar energy. This shift indicates Bahrain’s commitment to achieving Net-Zero emissions by 2060. Significant technological advancements and clear government policy commitments in this space, are also taking place which are transforming the operations of the industry whilst also impacting the workforce dynamics.
The Energy Sector Skills Report was developed through a comprehensive methodology, including international benchmarking, adherence to International Labour Organization guidelines, and a series of sector working group sessions to gain deep insights into the specific needs and dynamics of Bahrain’s Energy sector.
