Chief Executive of Tamkeen takes part in National Tree Week and emphasizes the importance of adopting sustainable enterprise practices
In line with the initiatives of the National Action Plan to Achieve Carbon Neutrality announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and following the launch of National Tree Week by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund “ Tamkeen” stressed the importance of supporting national efforts to enhance environmental security and sustainability and contribute to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment of achieving Net-Zero by 2060.
Her Excellency emphasized Tamkeen’s commitment to supporting national development policies that have a positive impact on private sector performance and encouraged enterprises to utilize Tamkeen’s support to adopt sustainable and efficient operational practices.
This came during her participation, along with Tamkeen’s executive management team, in planting several trees on the occasion of National Tree Week, which is held annually on the third week of October. The initiative aligns with Bahrain’s vision to adopt practices aimed at preserving environmental resources, in line with the Kingdom’s afforestation plan that aims to double the number of trees in the Kingdom to 3.6 million trees by 2035.
