Bahrain to host Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2019
The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) has recently announced that Bahrain has won the bid to host the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in 2019.
The news was announced in a high profile event at the UN headquarters in New York, which marked 10 years of the launch of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The Kingdom of Bahrain was among other competing countries to host this prestigious international event, which Bahrain won the privilege to host its 11th edition. The winning bid was submitted by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen).
Tamkeen Chief Executive Dr. Ebrahim M. Janahi said in a statement on this occasion: “It’s with great pleasure and pride that we receive the news of Bahrain’s remarkable achievement.
“This achievement is a translation of Bahrain’s steady efforts towards sustainable economic development and diversification, in line with its Economic Vision 2030, promoting entrepreneurial growth and innovation,” Dr. Janahi said.
He explained that Bahrain was named host as a result of its open attitude to globalization and global business as well as its efforts in entrepreneurship.
“As an integral part of its strategic role, Tamkeen places a strong emphasis on the continuous support of the private sector to make it the key driver of economic growth, leading to substantial gains,” Dr. Janahi added.
The Global Entrepreneurship Congress brings together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and other startup support champions from more than 170 countries.
