About the Program
This program, in collaboration with academic and vocational training institutes, provides enterprises with the opportunity to employ Bahrainis as apprentices, giving them the chance to obtain in-demand vocational skills across different trades as well as specialize in the fields of information technology, cybersecurity, and other future jobs.
Individuals enrolled in the program will dedicate 30% of their time to academic education and 70% of their time to on-the-job training for a period of 36 months.

Eligibility Criteria
For Enterprises:
- Enterprise must have an active CR/license
- Enterprise must not have violations from Tamkeen or LMRA
For Individuals:
- Individual must be a Bahraini national aged between 16 and 40 at the start of the program
- Individual must not be currently enrolled in an academic education program
- Individual’s wage must be a minimum of BHD 200/month

Support Mechanism
We will support 50% of the individual’s wage for 36 months, as well as 100% of the training cost during the apprenticeship period up to the approved cap amount.

How can I apply for this program?
Individuals can apply through the apprenticeship training providers we partner with by selecting the apprenticeship program suitable for them. While employers can apply through Tamkeen’s portal to avail the wage support.

What information and documents do I need to prepare before applying?
- The employment contract
- SIO statement
- The employee’s progression plan (optional)
- Pictures of the current business setup (optional)
- One-year management accounts (not older than 6 months) (optional)
- Latest audited financials (optional)

Will the candidates be registered with the Social Insurance Organization (SIO)?
Yes, once the candidate is shortlisted by the training provider, he/she will be employed by the Enterprise and registered with SIO.

What is the support period?
The support period is 36 months.

What type of jobs/skills will this program support?
This program will support vocational skills such as electrical, vehicle, welding, plumbing, HVAC, as well as specialized skills in the fields of information technology, cybersecurity, and other future jobs.

Apprentices will dedicate 30% of their time to academic education and 70% to on–the–job training.
