Supporting private hospitals and clinics to facilitate the residency of Bahraini doctors and enable them to progress in their careers

About the Program
This program aims to support the career progression of Bahraini doctors to help them get a specialization as Arab/Saudi board holders during their training and residency. The program enables Bahraini doctors to specialize in required medical specializations and grow in their careers.

Eligibility Criteria
For Enterprises
- Enterprise must have an active CR/license
- Enterprise must not have violations from Tamkeen or LMRA
For Employees
- Employee must be a Bahraini national
- Employee must be employed as a Doctor in a Private Hospital or Clinic
- Doctors must be licensed as a General Practitioner by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA)
- Employees must not be a resident doctor or a specialized doctor
- Employee must be registered in the SIO under the same company
- Employee holds a bachelor’s degree or above
- Employee’s wage must be a minimum of BHD 800

Support Mechanism
We will support 40% of the doctor’s wage and 100% of the training cost associated with the medical residency program between 4 to 6 years up to the approved cap amount.

How can my company benefit from this program?
Eligible employees can apply for the board through the Supreme Council of Health and sit the required exams and interviews.
Once accepted into the program, the hospital/clinic they are employed at can submit applications using Tamkeen’s online portal to request the support.
The opening of applications through our portal will be announced at a later date.

What is the minimum wage required to benefit from this program?
The minimum wage required to benefit from this program is BHD 800.

When can the enterprise submit the application?
The application can be submitted within 3 months of obtaining an approval from the Supreme Council of Health.

Can an enterprise apply for more than one candidate at the same time?

After receiving the approval, you will need to provide confirmation on program terms and conditions and submit payment requests when they are due.

What if I am already receiving wage subsidy from Tamkeen?
If you are already receiving wage subsidy, you can benefit from the training support only.

When can I submit an application for wage support?
After receiving the approval, you will need to provide confirmation on program terms and conditions and submit payment requests when they are due on a monthly-basis.

When can I submit an application for training support?
- You may submit a Payment Request upon paying the training provider once a year
- Payments to be made on a reimbursement basis once a year throughout the duration of the residency period
