Registration for the 6th edition of Mashroo3i Youth Business Competition ends with over 185 applications
The Labour Fund “Tamkeen” has witnessed a remarkable turnout in applications for the 6th edition of Mashroo3i Youth Business Competition with over 185 teams registered to take part in the competition. Subsequent to the end of registration, the Evaluation Committee of “Mashroo3i” have selected 132 qualified teams to join the comprehensive program fashioned to transform their business ideas into successful entrepreneurial projects. The outstanding volume of applicants further illustrates the notable growth of the entrepreneurial sector as well as the positive impact in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s private sector.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, said, “The astounding participation rate in the sixth edition of Mashroo3i Youth Business Competition reinforces the importance and significance of the program for the Bahraini youth in addition to the extended positive growth of the private sector. Through this national initiative, we aim to continuously encourage, guide and support future Bahraini Entrepreneurs ensuring they are provided with the fundamental skills, knowledge and tools to strengthen the holistic entrepreneurial culture within the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
The selected teams will meet in Mashroo3i induction meeting to discuss the forthcoming phases of the program as well as meet Mashroo3i trainers, mentors and other teams. Additionally, teams will take part in an organized Orientation Training sessions that will be happening during March and April 2020. The selected teams will have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to Mashroo3i twelve mentors. In which 60 teams will be selected to progress to the Business Feasibility Phase and do their feasibility study with the support of their mentors before they pitch it to the judges. Subsequently, 30 teams will advance to the Prototyping Phase where they will be working on their business prototypes and pitch to investors. In the final phase, 20 teams will be selected to showcase their prototypes in Mashroo3i public exhibition.
Mashroo3i Youth Business Competition has witnessed a higher number of mature applicants and job seekers in this edition of the competition in comparison to previous years. In addition, findings depict there are more male applicants this year and business ideas are predominantly technology related with the marketing and advertising, education, and fashion and art and they are sustainability-oriented and many more.
